Jeep Renegade Deserthawk, Altitude revealed for LA motor show
Two new versions of the Jeep Renegade small SUV have been revealed ahead of their debut at the 2016 Los Angeles motor show next week.
Named the 'Deserthawk' and 'Altitude', the new models feature light styling tweaks inside and out, for the desert or the street.

Based on the rugged Trailhawk variant, the Deserthawk features added equipment inspired by the desert.
Outside, the Renegade Deserthawk gets black-painted 17-inch alloy wheels, unique bonnet and body decals and rock rails.
The Deserthawk's interior sees the addition of black leather seats, 'Light Frost' stitching and trim highlights, all-weather floor mats and a luggage area mat.
Under the bonnet is the 2.4-litre 'Tigershark' four-cylinder petrol engine from the Trailhawk, producing 129kW of power and 230Nm of torque. Shifting gears is a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Like the Trailhawk, the Renegade Deserthawk sports an array of off-road features that contribute to its 'Trail Rated 4x4 capability", including 221mm of ground clearance, increased suspension travel, the company's Selec-Terrain system with 'Rock mode', and a 2000-pound (907kg) towing capacity.
When it hits American showrooms in January, the Renegade Deserthawk will start from US$28,140 ($36,990).
Renegade Altitude
Joining versions of the same name across the company's line-up, the Renegade Altitude is based on the Latitude grade and features a blacked-out look, thanks to a number of dark-themed additions inside and out.
Exterior enhancements include 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, along with gloss-black highlights all-round including the badges, grille rings and tail-light surrounds.
The enhancements continue on the inside with black cloth seats and high-gloss black trim highlights, along with 'Metal Diamond' accents on the shift knob and door handles.
Buyers have the choice of the 2.4-litre 'Tigershark' petrol engine and nine-speed auto combo offered in the Deserthawk along with the 103kW/230Nm 1.4-litre turbocharged 'MultiAir Turbo' petrol mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Hitting US showrooms later this month, the Renegade Altitude will start from US$22,390 ($29,431)
Australia
While not confirmed at this stage, Lucy McLellan, director of corporate communications at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia, told CarAdvice the company's local arm is certainly looking into introducing both models.
"We're always interested in future product and will certainly put our hand up for it if the market conditions and demand are there."
