Japanese manufacturer Subaru has announced it will be upgrading its pop-up shops to permanent stores in Victoria, with more to come nationally over the next year.
The brand's pop-up shop at Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre will be transitioning into a permanent store before the end of the year, while the pop-up in Northland Mall is also a candidate.
With the new stores, customers can browse, test drive, organise finance and have trade-in valuations all within a regular shopping environment.
Toby O'Bree, Subaru Australia's network development manager, said: "The traditional dealership model remains popular amongst customers. However, we see the pop-up store as an ideal way for customers to experience the Subaru brand in different, more convenient environments, helping to increase the availability and consideration of Subaru for many people.
Clearly, we are now witnessing a trend for auto brands to move into the day-to-day shopping space. Which brand will be next?
