2015-16 Mercedes-Benz E-Class recalled for engine stall fix:: 198 vehicles affected

Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for 198 previous-generation E-Class vehicles over concerns a faulty fuel pump could cause the engine to stall.

The German marque reports that the fuel pump wiring harness may come in contact with the frame of the rear seat base.

If the fault occurs, this can affect the operation of various fuel system components, which, in a worst case scenario, could cause the fuel pump to stop operating and the engine stalling.

Should the engine stall while driving, this poses a hazard to the vehicle’s occupants and other road users.

Affected E-Class models were sold between 1 October 2015 and 31 August 2016.

Owners of the recalled vehicles will be contacted via mail.
