2017 Subaru BRZ pricing and specs: Facelifted sports car available from $32,990

Local pricing and specifications for the facelifted 2017 Subaru BRZ range have been revealed, bringing price cuts, more power and extra kit to the Toyota 86 twin.

Now starting at $32,990 plus on-road costs for the BRZ manual ($34,990 auto), the 2017 model is $1230 cheaper than its predecessor in manual form and $1735 less with the automatic.

As revealed in August, the 2017 model-year BRZ manual gets a small power bump over last year’s model, from 147kW to 152kW (at 7000rpm), and 205Nm to 212Nm (between 6400 and 6800 rpm). The six-speed auto variant, however, remains unchanged.

The engine upgrades to the manual model mirror the changes seen in the BRZ's recently-updated Toyota 86 twin.

Other headlining features for the facelifted model include the new full-LED headlights and tail-lights, a new ‘Track’ mode setting for the Vehicle Dynamics Control, hill start assist, new 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, new steering wheel design, new bumper designs, an upgraded infotainment system, an updated driver’s instrument cluster and the option of BRZ-embossed seats with contrasting red stitching.
