2016 Toyota Camry Atara S gains standard navigation, optional on Altise

The 2016 Toyota Camry has seen the addition of satellite navigation as standard equipment on the Atara S grade, albeit for a minor price increase, while the system is also now optionally available on the entry-level Altise variant.

For a $700 bump the Atara S petrol (now $30,190) and hybrid (now $33,190) are fitted with a 7.0-inch touchscreen with navigation and SUNA real-time traffic updates, along with a six-speaker sound system, DAB+ digital radio functionality and voice recognition.

Meanwhile, the entry-level Altise can be had with the same unit, though it will set you back $700 extra.

Specifications for the rest of the Camry range remains unchanged.

In June, Toyota launched a 2016 model-year update for the top-selling Camry range, with headlining changes including Euro 5 emissions certification for the entire powertrain line-up, standard ISOFIX child seat mounts across the range, along with a number of cosmetic tweaks and equipment enhancements for the Atara SX variant.

Other changes for the new year included a new 4.2-inch multi-information driver’s display added to the Atara S grade.
