2017 Jaguar F-Pace recalled for wiring fix:: 36 vehicles affected

The British manufacturer reports that the routing of the starter motor cable could come into contact with the engine mounting.

With this condition, the vibration of the engine can cause the outer sheathing of the cable to wear through, exposing the wires.

This can lead to arching and a short circuit, while melting of the battery cable sheathing and surrounding parts could pose a fire risk.

Affected F-Pace vehicles were produced from 3 March 2016 through to 15 June 2016.

Owners of the 36 recalled F-Paces will be contacted by Jaguar Land Rover and are advised to present their vehicle to their local dealer who will inspect the routing of the starter motor cable and re-route or replace the component if necessary.

This recall comes months after the brand’s first SUV hit Australian roads.
