2017 Skoda Yeti pricing and specs: 110TSI 4×4 Outdoor from $32,990 in streamlined range

The 2017 Skoda Yeti range has been announced, headlined by the addition of a new 110TSI 4x4 Outdoor model. Elsewhere in the line-up, the 92TSI and 103 TDI 4x4 Outdoor models have been dropped, consolidating the Yeti range to just two variants.

Powered by the same 110kW/250Nm 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine offered with the Octavia and other Volkswagen Group, the new Outdoor's power is up 7kW on the model it replaces, although torque falls short by a not insignificant 100Nm.

Still, the company claims the new Yeti 110TSI uses 6.6L/100km on the combined cycle, shaving 0.1L/100km from the fuel use figures of its diesel predecessor.

The flagship 110TSI is mated exclusively to a six-speed DSG transmission, sending drive to all four wheels, just as it did in the 103TDI.

Like the old 103TDI before it, the 110TSI is distinguishable from its front-wheel driven brethren thanks to its 17-inch ‘Erebus’ black allow wheels, contrasting black bumpers and silver roof rails.

Adding to the adventurous feel of the Yeti 110TSI Outdoor is under-body protection.

Equipment-wise, the 110TSI gains climate control air-conditioning, chrome interior door handles and black sills over the entry-level 81TSI variant.

Other standard features across the range includes satellite navigation, metallic or pearl-effect paint, front and rear parking sensors, privacy glass and front fog lights.

Speaking to CarAdvice, Skoda Australia communications manager, Paul Pottinger, said: “[The] 103 TDI wasn’t available any longer, so we took the opportunity to introduce a much newer engine to the Yeti line-up at a strong price point”.

“The 110TSI is super-efficient and has been well-received in the Octavia, so it’s a natural fit for Yeti.”

For the new year, Skoda has also deleted the mid-tier 92TSI model, streamlining the range to just two variants.

Prices have been bumped up for the base model too, with the 81TSI now kicking off at $25,490 plus on-road costs with a six-speed manual (+$800) and $27,790 with the seven-speed DSG (+$800).

Meanwhile, the 110TSI 4x4 Outdoor can be had from $32,990 plus on-roads but is currently advertised for $34,990 drive-away.

These latest updates should see the Yeti out until the second-generation Tiguan-based model debuts in Australia sometime in 2018.

However, expect the new model to be revealed mid- to late-2017 ahead of its local launch.

NOTE: The prices listed below had originally shown the drive-away prices as the 'before on-road costs' prices. This has now been corrected.

2017 Skoda Yeti pricing (plus on-roads)

81TSI six-speed manual - $24,690 ($25,490 drive-away)
81TSI seven-speed DSG - $26,990 ($27,790 drive-away)
110TSI 4x4 Outdoor six-speed DSG - $32,990 ($34,990 drive-away)
