2016-17 Audi Q7, SQ7 recalled for seat fix:: 3400 vehicles affected

Audi Australia has issued a recall for 3434 of its 2016 and 2017 model-year Audi Q7 and SQ7 SUVs fitted with seven seats over concerns the third row bench wasn’t manufactured correctly.

The German marque reports indentations on the cross piece of the third row seating were not designed and subsequently manufactured to correct specifications.

As a result, the third-row seat structure could “deform” in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury to passengers in the sixth and seventh seats.

The VIN list of the recalled SUVs can be viewed here.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by Audi Australia, and are advised to visit their local dealer to arrange for inspection and repairs.
