Subaru rolls out mobile servicing vans

Subaru has commenced the wider rollout of its new mobile service vans in New South Wales, giving customers the option of having their vehicle serviced at home or at work.

First trialled earlier this year, the Subaru mobile service van initially operated in the Sydney suburb of Narellan, and is now servicing the areas around several other Subaru Sydney retailers.

Subaru says it plans to introduce 10 more vans by the end of 2017, with Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Port Macquarie currently under evaluation.

A van will also support pop-up stores in Melbourne over the course of next year.

Colin Christie, managing director of Subaru Australia, said: "We have been very encouraged by the reaction to this concept”.

“It’s the way of the future. If you are not innovating in today’s world you’re probably falling behind, and as a brand known for innovation, it’s imperative for us to continue to roll out new ideas.”

Subaru has found the mobile service van has proved particularly popular with caregivers, people with busy work schedules, along with the elderly.

Technicians providing the services have also given positive feedback about the initiative, as it allows them to have one-on-one interaction with their customers.

Subaru’s mobile service van is being offered to the company’s fleet customers who “value the idea of mobile servicing" to minimise the disruption to work.

Note: Mobile servicing is not available for 50,000km service interval (all models), STi variants and vehicles made prior to the 2012 model year.
