2014-16 Jeep Cherokee recalled for seat fix:: 61 vehicles affected

Jeep has issued a recall for 61 of its 2014 to 2016 model-year ‘KL’ Cherokee SUVs over concerns one of the seat fasteners may not have been tightened properly.

Due to a manufacturing fault, the company reports the seat fastener may not have been tightened to proper torque specification. A loose seat fastener could increase the risk of injury to occupants in the event of a collision.

Customers can view VIN list of the 61 recalled Cherokees here.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia, and are encouraged to present their Cherokee to their local Jeep dealer, where the seat fastener torque will be inspected.

If the fault is present, it will be rectified at no charge.
