2017 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T unveiled with turbocharged V8

The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T, the brand's first four-seat vehicle with a V8 engine, has been revealed ahead of the 2016 Paris motor show.

Under the bonnet, the GTC4 Lusso T ditches the V12 engine from the suffix-free variant, which was launched earlier this year.

In place of the V12 engine is a 3.9-litre turbocharged V8 engine generating a maximum of 448kW of power at 7500rpm, and 760Nm of torque between 3000 and 5250rpm. These numbers are down a little bit on the version of the engine powering the 488 GTB.

By dropping four cylinders, and switching from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive, the GTC4 Lusso T tips the scales at 1740 kilograms, or 50kg less than the V12 version.

Front-to-rear weight distribution ratio is now 46:54, whereas the V12 model has a 47:53 weight split.

Standard features include rear-wheel steering, third-generation side slip control, and stability control. The GTC4 Lusso T rides on 20-inch alloys all around, with 245/35 Pirelli P-Zero tyres up front, and 255/35 rubber at the rear.

The GTC4 Lusso T is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds, and hitting a top speed of 320km/h.

As a comparison, the GTC4 Lusso has a 507kW/697Nm 6.3-litre V12 that's capable of hurtling the grand touring hatchback from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds, and recording a v-max of 335km/h.

Australia

Ferrari's Australian distributor has confirmed that local fans will see the GTC4 Lusso T make its first appearance here in November, ahead of deliveries that will begin in late 2017.
