2017 Jaguar F-Pace ‘SVR’ spied

A hot new SUV, possibly the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, has been spotted by spy photographers doing hot laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Alternatively the car seen here could just be an R version of the F-Pace crossover, rather than an SVR variant being developed by Jaguar Land Rover's SVO arm.

If the car seen here is indeed the F-Pace SVR, it will likely feature a version of the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 already employed by the Range Rover Sport SVR and F-Type SVR.

In the two-door, the company's V8 has been tuned to deliver 423kW of power and 700Nm of torque. The Range Rover, on the other hand, features an iteration with 405kW and 680Nm against its name.

Should this car be the F-Pace R, it might be powered by a retuned version of the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine found elsewhere in the crossover's lineup.

At present, the most powerful model in the F-Pace range is the S, which manages to extract 280kW of power and 450Nm of torque from the 3.0-litre supercharged V6.

The prototype vehicle seen here on the Nurburgring features set of enlarged air intakes up front. These are masked by makeshift blanking plates that have been covered up a swirly camouflage pattern, which has seemingly been graffitied on.

There's also large alloy wheels, low profile tyres, and an uprated braking package.
