The new Elise 250 Special Edition is based on the Elise Cup 250 that was unveiled earlier this year. As such, it has a six-speed manual and a supercharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine with 181kW of power at 7200rpm, and 250Nm of torque between 3500 and 5500rpm.
Other items carried over from the Cup 250 include Bilstein dampers, and Eibach coaxial coil springs. Stopping power comes courtesy of brakes with AP Racing twin-piston callipers up front, and Brembo single-piston callipers at the rear.
The Special Edition model comes fitted with the carbon-fibre aero package that's optional on the Cup 250. This lowers the car's overall weight by 10 kilograms, and includes a lightweight front splitter, rear wing, tailgate, and front access panel.
On inside, the limited edition model features black or blue leather with contrasting stitching for the seats and door trims.
Lotus will produce only 50 Elise 250 Special Edition models, and the cars will be available on a first come, first served basis.
The anniversary model will be available in four colours: red, yellow, white, and metallic blue. Among the available options are a carbon-fibre hardtop roof, black alloy wheels, audio system, a full set of carpets, and extra sound insulation.
