Shannons Melbourne summer auction

Shannons Melbourne Summer Auction on November 23rd will see a great range of pre 1950s Classic cars going under the hammer.

A pre-war 1934 Nash 120 Sedan, once owned by a minister in Chadstone, Melbourne, has been restored by its present owner over a nine year period.

The car was striped down to its chassis and each component was restored or replaced as required. The total spent on the car is $58,000 not including hours of labour. Shannons will be expecting the car to sell in the $24,000 to $30,000 range.

Other pre-war cars include a Chocolate and Cream 1930 Essex Super 6 Sedan ($12,000 to $18,000), a 1924 Dodge Tourer ($10,000 to $14,000) and an original 1934 Hillman Ruskin Sedan ($8,000 to $11,000).

A 1948 Packard Series 22 Sedan will be the pick of the day with a straight eight cylinder engine, four wheel hydraulic brakes and coil spring independent front suspension. Sannons are expecting to sell the car in the $22,000 to $28,000 range.

A 1949 Morris Minor 'Low-Light' Sedan is in the $8,000 to $11,000 range and a 1950 Ford Prefect Sedan also expecting to sell in the $8,000 to $11,000 range and Shannons think this Prefect is the best example in Australia.
