2017 Tesla Model X:: full Australian pricing revealed

Full Australian pricing for the 2017 Tesla Model X range has been revealed today, ahead of its arrival later this year.

A fortnight ago the company released the launch pricing of the base 60D variant, which will start at $111,900 plus on-road costs.

Now, pricing for the 75D, 90D and P90D have been announced for the Australian range, though local equipment and features are still yet to be confirmed.

However, overseas markets have the following options available:

  • Seven seat configuration (adds two extra seats, along with additional heating and cooling)
  • Six seat configuration (adds the extra two seats, but removes the middle seat in the second row for easier entry and exit)
  • Autopilot (this includes Autopilot, summon, semi-automatic parking and radar cruise control)
  • Premium interior package (HEPA air filtration unit, ventilated front seats, Alcantara headliner, soft LED interior lighting, dynamic LED headlights and fog lights)
  • Smart air suspension (includes geocaching of suspension raise locations)
  • Sub zero weather package (heated windscreen wipers, heated seats and heated steering wheel)
  • Ultra high-fidelity sound system (includes 17 speaker sound system)
  • Towing package (with 2300kg towing capacity)
  • High amperage charging upgrade (increases charging capacity from 48A to 72A)

The Model X range will top out at $172,100 plus on-road costs (and luxury car tax) for the flagship P90D.

By comparison, the pre-facelift Model S P90D was $169,500 before on-road costs, making the extra practicality of the Model X somewhat of a bargain.

Depending on region, the P90D's on-road cost, including Luxury Car Tax, stamp duty, registration and compulsory third-party insurance, will come out at between $200,000 and $215,000.

According to Tesla the top-of-the range Model X P90D will deliver a maximum 467-kilometre range, sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250km/h.

Filling out the range will be the 75D at $125,000 and the 90D at $143,000, both excluding on-road costs and luxury car tax. Including LCT and on-road costs will push those two upwards of $145,000 and $160,000 respectively - again depending on the region.

With first deliveries of the all-electric SUV to commence towards the end of the year, expect full equipment and specification details to be released closer to the release date.
