Keating Berus:: 1490kW supercar on track for 2017 launch – report

British company Keating Supercars has reportedly released initial details of its upcoming Berus hypercar, which promises a 2000 horsepower flagship and a sub-3.0-second 0-100km/h sprint.

While a little-known name in the automotive industry, Britain-based Keating Supercars is celebrating a decade in the business. The company produces lightweight, ultra-powerful cars designed to stand out from the not-so ‘regular’ supercar and hypercar crowd.

Named after the venomous Vipera Berus snake - found in Western Europe and Asia - the Keating Berus is designed to look like a slithering reptile, with the front of the car resembling a snake’s head while the lower intake and bumper design looking like fangs.

According to the UK's Auto Express, the Berus will come in three versions: a 485kW ‘standard’ variant, a bonkers 1941kW twin-turbo flagship, and a 300kW all-electric model.

The last model that Keating revealed was the Bolt, which debuted three years ago. Keating claimed an ambitious top speed of 340mph (547km/h) for the most powerful variant, however the Bolt never made it into production.

A report with Autocar claims the Berus will be designed, engineered and produced in Bolton, UK.

The Keating Berus is scheduled to be unveiled at the Top Marque Monaco auto show next April.
