DS E-Tense concept spied on the roads of Paris

The DS E-Tense electric coupe concept has been spied on the roads of Paris this week, stoking talk of a potential leap to production.

Revealed for the Geneva motor show earlier this year, the DS E-Tense is a showcase of technology and design for PSA Peugeot Citroen’s premium brand.

No confirmation has been given yet as to whether the bright green all-electric sports coupe will make it to production, but its sighting on the road would seem to suggest the company is not done with this concept just yet.

Claiming outputs of 300kW and 516Nm from its electric drive system, the E-Tense a 0-100km/h time of just 4.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 250km/h.

The E-Tense has a quoted zero-emissions driving range of around 310 kilometres in mixed urban/highway conditions.

Measuring 4.72 metres long and 1.29 metres high, the E-Tense is around 500mm longer and nearly 50mm shorter top-to-bottom than the new Audi TT.

While it is unknown whether the DS electric sports car will be hitting showrooms anytime soon, PSA announced in April that it would introduce four new pure-electric vehicles (EVs) by 2021. The E-Tense could be one quarter of this plan.

In the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see whether the E-Tense is just another concept car, or PSA’s next halo model.
