2015-2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class, CLA, GLA recalled for transmission fix
Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for 14 vehicles from its A-Class, CLA and GLA lines over concerns a fracture in the transmission could result in a loss of drive.
The German brand reports that a welded seam in the dual-clutch transmission’s assembly may fracture over time.
If the fault occurs, a loss of drive poses an accident hazard to the vehicle’s occupants and other road users.
The 14 affected vehicles were manufactured between 1 November 2015 to 30 January 2016. No incidents of transmission failure have been reported in Australia.
Owners of the affected Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be contacted via mail.
