2017 Renault Clio RS and GT Line unveiled

The updated Renault Clio RS and GT Line models have been unveiled with a host of styling tweaks.

In terms of design, the revised Clio RS and GT Line models adopt the changes made to the rest of the small hatch range, including the new LED internals for the headlights and redesigned tail-lights.

There's also an updated interior with higher quality materials for the dashboard, and the company's latest selection of infotainment and navigation systems.

Clio RS

Visually, the revised Clio RS sports a new front bumper design taken, seemingly, straight from the RS 16 concept, which debuted at the 2016 Monaco Grand Prix. The new front fascia includes a chequered flag design, dubbed RS Vision, for the fog and driving lights.

Once again the Clio RS is available in three trims: Sport, Cup, and Trophy. The Sport and Cup variants are fitted with a 1.6-litre turbo engine with 147kW/240Nm, while the Trophy is available with a gutsier 162kW/260Nm version.

The Sport can be specified with either 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Cup and Trophy both ride on restyled 18-inch rims as standard. The Trophy also features suspension that's been lowered by 20mm at the front and 10mm at the rear.

New to the Clio RS Trophy is an Akrapovic exhaust system. Performance figures for the Clio RS Trophy are unchanged at 6.6 seconds for 0-100km/h sprint, 14.5 seconds for the standing 400m dash, and a top speed of 235km/h.

Clio GT Line

The Clio GT Line styling kit gives regular models in the updated Clio range a slightly sportier look. Changes include dark metal-style highlights, RS-like side sills, a large chrome exhaust tip, unique 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels, and a grey rear diffuser-style element.

On the inside, the GT Line features blue highlights, aluminium pedals, an RS-style steering wheel covered in perforated leather, and plenty of GT Line badging.

Australia

We're waiting to hear back from Renault Australia as to when the various updated Renault Clio RS and GT Line models will be available locally.

Regular models in the updated Clio range are expected to enter Australian showrooms either towards the end of 2016 or at the beginning of 2017.
