2017 Ford Everest getting Sync 3, ISOFIX
The Ford Everest will get a welcome equipment upgrade from September, with Sync 3 infotainment to be added as standard across the Trend and Titanium variants.
The Sync 3 system means both the mid- and top-spec Ford Everest models will come with 8.0-inch touchscreens with pinch-and-swipe capability, a new home screen, embedded apps (Spotify, Pandora and Google Maps) and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.
As such, the Everest will supplant the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport as the in-car tech leader of the rugged large SUV market, going some way to addressing the notable price premium the range commands, and the Trend's lack of standard integrated sat-nav.
The base Ford Everest Ambiente will not get the new infotainment system.

Ford will roll out the Sync 3 system across most of its models over the short-term, with the Focus, Kuga and Mustang also set to get the feature before the end of 2016.
Meanwhile, Ford has made another important change to the seven-seat Everest line-up. All models from September will get ISOFIX child seat attachments in the middle row — good news for family buyers.
As we reported today, the Sync 3/ISOFIX update to Everest coincides with the launch of a new Everest Trend rear-wheel drive offering, which retains the same 143kW/470Nm 3.2-litre diesel engine and 3000kg towing capacity as the 4x4, but cuts the price by $5000 to $55,990.
