Revealed at this year’s E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, the latest iteration of Forza’s open-world racing game heads to Australia, which Microsoft has promised will capture the country’s natural beauty and environmental variety.

Iconic landmarks such as Victoria’s Twelve Apostles star in the new game, along with winding roads that are familiar to the Yarra Valley and the Great Ocean Road. Various rainforests, caves and beaches that have been inspired by those on Aussie soil also feature to on the game's map that is twice as big as that on the previous game.

Adding to the beautifully recreated Australian landscape is the roster of 350 cars, including the new Lamborghini Centenario that was revealed at March’s Geneva motor show.

Other star cars include the Ford F-150 Raptor - which shares the game cover with the Centenario, along with a diverse mix of supercars, sportscars, trucks, even buggies and extreme off-roaders.

New features of Forza Horizon 3 include the player’s ability to tailor every experience in the game to their own personal tastes. The new Blueprint function allows players to create their own gameplay - such as weather, eligible cars and restrictions - and instantly share it with friends.

Adding to the gaming experience, players make these customisations to earn the following of friends and acquaintances, who can choose to join your ‘Horizon Festival’ to compete, socialise and cooperate to complete events and objectives.

Forza Horizon 3 will launch on Xbox One and Windows 10 on September 27. For now, you can watch the trailer in the above video.
