Mazzanti reveals 1000hp Evantra Millecavalli

Italian supercar marque Mazzanti has unveiled its manic Evantra Millecavalli hypercar in the final installment of a ten-part YouTube series that previewed the car’s development.

While not as well known as other car makers from the boot-shaped nation, Mazzanti has its sights firmly set on the podium of the hypercar field.

In its YouTube series, Mazzanti teased the “EV-R” project - the code name for the Evantra Millecavalli. This week, the tenth and final installment revealed the car and detailed some of the impressive figures the Millecavalli is capable of.

Powered by a 7.2-litre bi-turbo V8 engine producing 1000 horsepower (746kW) and 1200Nm of torque, Mazzanti claims that the Evantra Millecavalli can make the sprint from 0-100km/h in just 2.7 seconds. Top speed is claimed to be somewhere beyond 400km/h.

Millecavalli, in Italian, means ‘a thousand horses’ - referring to the car’s power output.

The new hypercar also claims to be the most powerful street-legal hypercar ever built in Italy, eclipsing the already-insane Ferrari LaFerrari which produces 708kW.

Mazzanti already makes a ‘standard’ version of the Evantra, which was first revealed back in 2013. Don’t be fooled, though - the regular Evantra is already capable of hitting 100kmp/h from a standstill in 3.2 seconds and can power on past 350km/h thanks to its 523kW/848Nm 7.0-litre, naturally aspirated V8.

Limited to just 25 vehicles, the Evantra Millecavalli gains Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, Pirelli Trofeo R tires, OZ Racing light-alloy wheels, a large rear wing and a 10cm-wider track.

Accompanying the video is a statement by the company’s founder and owner, Luca Mazzanti, which says: “All cars realised in the history of Mazzanti Automobili have in common the philosophy of exclusivity and craftsmanship, already part of the DNA of me Atelier (workroom)”.

“[The] Evantra Millecavalli is the maximum of this, built in a limited edition of only 25 exemplars. With this ultimate hypercar we were able to go beyond what [the limits were] a few years ago.”

“Thus, Evantra Millecavalli embodies a concept of evolution with regard to the chassis and the style, and a concept of revolution concerning the mechanics and aerodynamics,” he added.

Mazzanti will officially unveil the very exclusive Evantra Millecavalli on June 8 at Salone Auto Torino - the Turin auto show.
