Nissan Qazana Concept

Earlier this year we discussed the Nissan Qazana concept which was first unveiled at the Geneva motorshow earlier this year. Nissan will be showing off the concept car again at this month's Tokyo Motorshow.

The idea behind this car, as Nissan puts it, is to have fun behind the wheel. Given that's coming from the company behind such cars as the Nissan GT-R and 370Z, we tend to sit up and take notice. The Nissan Qazana is a five-door compact sport crossover with an ultra-modern design.

The Japanese giant says its exterior and interior designs have been inspired by images of beach buggies and motorcycles. From the outside the large wheel arch is there to emphasizes power and stability alongside high belt lines and a sporty upper body.

From the inside, it's even more weird. Nissan says the center console looks "just like a fuel tank and seat of a motorcycle". We can't really make sense of what the concept is suppose to achieve, does this mean Nissan is working on even more sports cars? Perhaps a five-door sport crossover with a bit more oomph than the Dualis? Only time will tell.

CarAdvice is attending the Tokyo motorshow later this month so stay tuned for all the exclusive stories and photos. If you're interested in seeing more of the Qazana, check out the video below:
