Holden Commodore Black:: SV6, SS drive-away specials on sale – UPDATE

UPDATE: This article originally listed driveaway prices from launch,  see bottom of article for details.

The Holden Commodore may be reaching the end of its life (as we know it), but that hasn’t stopped the Aussie brand from introducing a new special variant to the range: the Commodore Black.

Available from mid-April in sedan, wagon and ute body styles, the Commodore Black is based on the SV6 and SS models, adding a host of exterior and interior tweaks for an additional $1000.

The Commodore Black Edition adds exterior changes such as a black grille, mirror caps, lip spoiler, “Black Edition” badging and unique 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Commodore Black's additional features include a colour head-up display (HUD), satellite navigation, contrast red stitching on the seats and unique “Black Edition” carpet floor mats at the front.

Holden’s executive director of sales, Peter Keley, said: “With Commodore Black, we’ve chosen to combine the style of those black design features with the substance of advanced technology, usually only reserved for top of the line vehicles”.

“Black exterior design features have proved popular with customers looking to give their vehicle a stronger road presence and unique styling.”

“[The] Commodore Black offers an impressive amount of additional content, headed by satellite navigation and the driver-focused, colour head-up display, providing customers with a compelling package and outstanding value,” he added.

Customers wanting to add to the Black Edition’s visual appeal can option a set of 20-inch black “Baretta” alloy wheels for $1000, however, this is available on the sedan and ute only.

Commodore Black additional features (over SV6/SS):

  • Colour head-up display (HUD)
  • Satellite navigation
  • Black grille, Daytime running light (DRL) surrounds and mirror caps
  • Black lip spoiler (sedan only)
  • Unique 18-inch alloy wheels with black finish (20-inch wheels $1000 extra for sedan/ute only)

  • “Black Edition” carpet floor mats (front only)
  • Exterior “Black Edition” badging

*The Commodore Black is not available with optional leather seats
