2017 Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera spied at the Nurburgring

Our spy photographers have nabbed the Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera undergoing testing on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Front on, apart from the temporary licence plate stuck to the bonnet, this Huracan looks like nothing out of the ordinary. Once you can see the rear bumper, though, that all changes.

Extending out from the central portion of the rear bumper is a cage-like enclosure. Behind its temporary metal grille lies a new exhaust setup with two large tips, one on either end.

We don't yet know the specifics of the engine that this high-mounted exhaust system is connected to, but our photographers have confirmed that it sounds pretty sweet. It should easily best the 449kW of power and 560Nm of torque generated by the Huracan LP610-4's 5.2-litre V10.

To go along with the extra power and torque, the Superleggera, or whatever this car will be christened, should also have extra lashings of carbonfibre and other weight saving materials.

While this development prototype wears the bumpers and aero kit from the standard Huracan, it's safe to say that the production version will be decked out in more outlandish finery. If the Gallardo Superleggera is anything to go by, the production Huracan Superleggera will likely sport a large, fixed rear wing.

Rumours indicate that this new, hotter edition of Huracan will debut in the second half of 2016, possibly at October's Paris motor show.
