New V6 for Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai's medium SUV, the Santa Fe has been given a power upgrade and is now available with a 3.3L V6.

The new engine develops 180 kW of power at 6000rpm and 309 Nm of torque at 3500rpm (up 7 kW and 5 Nm respectively over Sonata) on standard unleaded petrol, driving the front wheels through Hyundai’s five-speed Selectronic automatic transmission with adaptive control logic and sequential manual override.

This new 3.3L V6 range will be available in three variants which start at $37,990 for the five-seat SX. A step up from this is the seven-seat SLX at $40,990 and the seven-seat luxury Elite model tops out the range at $46,490. All models are equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESP) and Traction Control System (TCS) as standard.

This is yet another step forward for Hyundai in revamping their image - with the figures to prove it - rounding out the top 8 in a list of the most valuable car brands, not to mention the new RWD Tiburon is just around the corner.
