2011 Mitsubishi Crossover spy pics

Here are the very first spy-shots of an all-new Mitsubishi Crossover, likely to hit showrooms early 2011.

What our spies shot in Switzerland today looks very much like a shrunk Qashqai-like Crossover – a class of cars that’s very popular nowadays and might replace the thirsty SUVs within the coming few years.

Nissan’s Qashqai is the makes top-seller at present – and it looks like Mitsubishi is hard working on a model that’s to mimic Nissan’s success.

Though still smaller than Nissan’s counterpart, the new Mitsubishi Crossover is longer and wider than the Colt, however we’re not sure whether it got taller, too.

Equipped with front-wheel-drive in standard trim, AWD might be an option.

We assume the new Crossover will receive a whole range of new engines with outputs ranging from 67 to 126kW.

Lancer's 104kW 2.0-litre DI-D (diesel) unit may also find its way into the new Crossover and we wouldn’t be surprised to see a hybrid being part of the line-up, too.
