Bugatti Veyron Speed
The Bugatti Veyron is not only the most expensive road car in the world (at $1.24 million USD) but it is by far the fastest. If the 0-100km/hour wasn't fast at 2.8 seconds, and if 0-160km/hr (0-100miles) wasn't good enough in 5.5 seconds, then perhaps the fact that it can get to 160km/hour, and back to a complete stop in 9.9 seconds should raise a few eyebrows. To give you some comparison, the BMW M6 does this in 15 seconds!
For a car that weighs 1800kg, to not only reach 160km/hr but to be able to stop in under 10 seconds is an astonishing achievement (hence the $1.2 million price tag). Autocar magazine (UK) recently gathered a group of the best cars (and bike) and put them to the 0-160km-0 test. Results are below:
