A shadowy teaser has been handed down this week for one of two new Chevrolet-badged Colorado concepts that will appear at next week’s 2016 Bangkok motor show.
General Motors has cleverly blacked out most of the show car’s details, although it is clear that off-roading fans can expect to see a strong focus on new heavy-duty accessories.
In the current Australian-delivered Holden Colorado range, buyers can choose from accessories that includes a number of bull bars and nudge bars, along with independent driving lights, a snorkel, and a sports bar, among other options.
This new teaser image hints at a specialised roof rack up top, as well as bolt-on guards and wider, chunkier tyres. A black bonnet bulge can also be seen.
And, although largely obscured in this image, it is clear that we can expect the recent leaked images of a Colorado facelift - including new headlights and a redesigned grille and bumper arrangement - to preview what’s to come with these new concepts.

For now, Chevrolet has confirmed only that the concepts will “point to an exciting future direction for Chevrolet in Thailand”. Whether we’ll see any of these accessories, or the new face, flow through to the local Holden range is still to be seen.
Sources at Holden have confirmed with CarAdvice that we can expect significant updates to the local Colorado range for the 2017 model year, including extensive improvements to suspension and steering, developed and tested at the Lang Lang proving ground in Victoria.
Watch for these two new concepts to appear on March 22 at the Bangkok motor show.
