Dodge Journey and Chrysler Voyager recalled over faulty airbag sensor

The 2008 Dodge Journey and Chrysler Grand Voyager have been issued with a recall to address a potentially faulty airbag sensor.

Corrosion of the power-supply to the Occupant Restraint Control module may cause the unit to malfunction.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Australia reports that this fault could result in either preventing airbag deployment in a collision, or have the airbag deploy outside of an emergency situation.

The recall affects 335 FCA vehicles built in 2008 and 2009.

Owners will be notified and instructed to take their vehicles to a Jeep dealership for repair.
