Bentley Flying Spur V8 S unveiled

The Bentley Flying Spur V8 S has been revealed ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Geneva motor show.

Under the bonnet, the new Flying Spur V8 S features the same, more powerful version of the brand's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the Continental GT V8 S coupe and convertible.

This means it delivers 389kW of power at 6000rpm and 680Nm of torque at 1700rpm to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive system with a 40:60 front-to-rear torque split. That's up 17kW and 20Nm on the engine that's used on the regular Flying Spur V8.

According to Bentley, the V8 S is capable of reeling off the 0-100km/h standard in 4.9 seconds and hitting a top speed of 306km/h. Compared to the regular V8, the V8 S is 0.3 seconds quicker to 100km/h and has an 11km/h higher top speed.

Bentley has also fitted the V8 S with a new suspension setup that's said to improve both handling and body control. The company has tweaked the throttle and transmission for sharper responses, while there's also sportier tuning for the stability control system.

Visually the Flying Spur V8 S is distinguished from other variants with black mesh for the grille, new 20-inch alloy wheels, and a darker interior treatment, which includes piano black wood inlays.

Buyers can also specify 21-inch alloys, tinted head- and tail-lights, blacked out wing mirrors, and semi-aniline leather upholstery.
