Ex-Cop Robs Motorists With Speeding Tickets

This is another case of, only in America. A Former U.S. police officer has been accused of felony robbery charges for wearing his Utah Highway Patrol jacket, badge and gun and pulling over speeding motorists.

Now that sounds like a charitable thing todo, but unfortunately not only had the Police officer retired for four years, but he apparently requested each motorist to hand over wallet and registration so that he could collect the "fine" on the spot.

He has been accused of stealing $9000 from a single traffic stop. For Utah motorists the problem is only getting worse with more unmarked cars impersonating Police cars.

Utah Police department has told motorists that if in doubt, lock all doors and demand to see a marked police car. The ex-cop was in full uniform carrying his badge.
