Spied by CarAdvice reader Josh on the New South Wales stretch of the Hume Highway over the weekend, this Levorg is likely a factory-owned Australian-market model in final evaluation.
Exact timing for the Levorg’s Australian launch is still to be revealed, although Subaru has confirmed a mid-2016 window.
Revealed as a “concept” in late 2013, the Levorg went on sale in its home market of Japan not long after, before going on to a UK launch earlier this year.
In Australia, the Levorg will enter as something of a 'replacement' for the Liberty wagon, which, in recent generations, has become a larger car.
More, in its current form, the Liberty wagon can only be had as the high-riding Outback.
“It will appeal to those fourth-generation Liberty GT buyers who have been starved of a logical successor but we believe it will also attract a much wider audience because of its performance, its versatility, its refinement and its high level of standard equipment,” Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior said in July.
