2015 Mercedes-AMG S63 recalled for software fix

Mercedes-Benz Australia has issued a recall notice for its new AMG S63 models, over a software fault that could affect the vehicle's operation.

The company reports that a potential fault in the software of the engine and transmission control units may cause the vehicle to stall, specifically when coasting to a stop.

The recall affects sedan and coupe models in the Mercedes-AMG S63 line, sold between November 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has confirmed it will write to the owners of affected vehicles to arrange for a software update to be installed.

This recall follows one issued last month, with 53 examples of the S63 coupe potentially affected by the incorrect fitment of front seat belts.
