2016 Citroen Berlingo pricing and specifications: New tech, increased safety

The update also brings a very light styling update, introducing a redesigned front bumper with the - on some models - the option of colour-coded panels and LED daytime lights.

List prices are up by $1000 across the board on the three-model Berlingo range, but Citroen has locked in sharp drive-away prices that cover on-road costs (and add a discount to the long-body models).

New standard equipment includes a locally-installed 7.0-inch Pioneer touch display with integrated support for Apple Carplay and Mirror Link. Auxiliary and USB inputs are also featured.

Safety is also enhanced for the 2016 range, with the addition of electronic stability control, hill-start assist, traction control and a reversing camera now all included as standard.

Dual sliding doors are now standard, while standard models also get a moulded floor protector in the rear.

All models get a re-styled front bumper, but a ‘look pack’ option is also available for long-body models, adding LED daytime lamps, fog lamps with cornering function, new 15” Airflow wheel covers, and a colour-coded finish to the bumpers, wing mirrors, door handles and side strips.

Drivetrains remain unchanged for the new model year. There’s an 80kW/147Nm 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine in the short models, and a 66kW/215Nm 1.6 turbo diesel in the long options.

The petrol engine is matched to a five-speed manual, while the diesel gets both the manual and a six-speed semi-automatic shifter.
