Hyundai i20 production moves to Europe

Hyundai will shift more than one-third of its i20 production from India to Europe by the middle of next year in order to gain from EU tax benefits.

Although Hyundai has not yet made a final decision on where the i20's production will be moved to, it is considered most likely that the firm's Turkish plant will win the deal.

Hyundai currently has the capacity to make around 200,000 units per year in India.

The news comes just weeks after news of the i10 and i20 launch in Australia being delayed. Expect a release of both the i10 and i20 early next year.
