Nissan Sentra facelift previews possible Pulsar update

A facelifted Nissan Sentra sedan has made its public debut at the 2015 Los Angeles auto show.

The updated Sentra has a reworked front-end that incorporates the company's "V-motion grille", as well as a new bonnet, restyled headlights, and a reworked bumper design.

Top-end models will also feature new LED low beam headlights, LED driving lights, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

There have also been changes to the car's tail-light graphics, while the rear bumper has also been restyled to include a diffuser-style element, at least on the semi-sporty SR model seen here.

All up, the changes bring the Sentra into line with the majority of Nissan's American sedan lineup that includes the dramatically styled Maxima and the recently facelifted Altima, all of which follow the style trend laid down by the latest-generation Murano crossover.

For the US market, the Sentra's interior has been upgraded with a new steering wheel, reworked centre stack and gear shifter, upgraded seats, and an instrument panel with a larger, higher resolution 5.0-inch display for high-spec models.

New safety features on American Sentras include intelligent cruise control, automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

It's not known, at this stage, if this facelift will flow through to the Australia-bound Pulsar sedan, which is built in Thailand.
