2015 Nissan Navara bullbar scores ANCAP five-star safety rating

Nissan Australia has today confirmed that the bullbars offered with the 2015 NP300 Navara are entirely compliant with the new ute’s five-star ANCAP crash safety rating.

Available as part of its Genuine Accessories program, the two steel and two aluminium bullbar options - to suit the Navara's standard- and wide-body cabins - have all been awarded five-star safety ratings of their own.

The top score means that buyers ticking the bullbar option can be assured that both the bullbar and the vehicle’s safety systems will function as intended, with a full barrage of engineering work and crash testing carried out to ensure compliance.

“Nissan’s steel and aluminium bullbars have been carefully designed and engineered to work in complete harmony with all of the NP300 Navara’s structural elements and onboard safety systems,” Nissan Australian CEO and managing director Richard Emery said.

Nissan says its new Navara bullbars are the result of two years of design and engineering work, both here in Australia and in Japan.

Engineering validation work, such as engine cooling performance and “the multitude of necessary tests” to ensure that market regulations and internal Nissan durability standards were met, was done in Australia and at Nissan’s proving ground in Tochigi, Japan.

“Safety, quality and durability don’t occur by accident, and these bullbars for the all-new NP300 Navara definitely show that genuine is best when it comes to vehicle accessories and parts,” Emery said.
