The xDrive35d becomes the flagship in the five-model X4 line-up, sitting above the 20i, 20d, 30d and 35i variants.
The BMW X4 xDrive35d boasts monstrous performance numbers. Under the bonnet sits a 230kW/630Nm 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo diesel, humbling the 225kW/400Nm outputs of the xDrive35i turbo petrol. As with the rest of the range, the 35d features an eight-speed automatic transmission that distributes power to all four wheels.
Unsurprisingly, the xDrive35d is also the quickest X4 on the market, sprinting from 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds, beating the 35i by three tenths of a second.
And despite producing 40kW and 70Nm more than the mid-spec diesel, the 30d, its uses just 0.1L/100km more on the combined cycle, averaging 6.0L/100km.
The 35d matches the specification of the 35i variant. Standard features include dynamic damper control, bi-xenon headlights, comfort access system, auto tailgate, leather upholstery, and the M Sport package, with distinctive 20-inch alloy wheels, aerodynamics package, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with gearshift paddles.
Standard tech item includes the Professional navigation system, surround-view camera with 360-degree display, ConnectedDrive Freedom, real-time traffic information, internet connectivity, DAB+ digital radio, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system.
