Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake facelift spy photos

A prototype for the facelifted Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Shooting Brake has been nabbed by our spy photographers out on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Given that the A-Class hatch has already been updated, and our spies have spotted the prototypes of the facelifted CLA sedan already, it stands to reason that the wagon variant is also in line for a revision.

As with the modifications made to the A-Class, the changes wrought to the CLA Shooting Brake will only be immediately apparent to the keenest car spotters.

There will definitely be changes to the car's front and rear fascias, and these updates will likely be joined by revised graphics for the head- and tail-lights.

If the CLA follows the pattern laid out by the A-Class facelift, its updated interior will feature new switches, revised graphics, upgraded trim and improved seating.

For top-spec models, there will also be a larger high resolution 8.0-inch infotainment screen, and the ability to use the MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring protocols.

Safety technology will likely be improved with the addition of autonomous emergency braking and a revised driver drowsiness monitor that works up to around 120km/h.

As far as drivetrains go, expect engine upgrades to mirror those found in the latest A-Class models. Many engines should gain a little bit of power and torque, while cars fitted with a dual-clutch transmission will also gain launch assistance.
