BMW 340i 40 Year Edition marks four decades of the 3 Series

BMW Australia is marking the 40th anniversary of the 3 Series with a limited-run of the exclusive BMW 340i 40 Year Edition.

BMW will offer just 40 of the 340i 40 Year Edition vehicles in our market. Arriving in showrooms in the coming days, the limited edition cars will cost $97,900 plus on-road costs, positioning them $8000 above the regular 340i sedan, the flagship of the updated 3 Series range.

Half of the 40 Year Edition vehicles will be finished with BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue metallic paint and the other half with Mineral White metallic paint.

On the outside, all come standard with the M Sport package, 19-inch M double-spoke Orbit Grey alloy wheels, an electric glass sunroof, and satin aluminium exterior highlights.

The cabin gains a number of bespoke BMW Individual touches, including Opal White leather upholstery in blue cars and Merino Black leather in white cars, leather-finished instrument panel cover, and piano black trim with special 40/3 logo.

The black, white and blue colour schemes are designed to capture the colours of the BMW roundel.

The BMW 340i 40 Year Edition is otherwise identical to the car it’s based on. The updated model is powered by a brand-new 240kW/450Nm 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo petrol engine, accelerates from 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds and uses 6.8 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres on the combined cycle.
