Range Rover Evoque convertible will only be produced in limited numbers – report
According to a report, the new Range Rover Evoque convertible will only be produced in limited numbers.
An unnamed spokeswoman has told Automotive News Europe that the English marque will only produce a "small run" of the Evoque convertible at its factory in Halewood, England.
The representative didn't speculate or name a number for the Evoque cabrio's production run.
The Evoque convertible will follow in the footsteps of the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, first generation Toyota RAV4 and Land Rover Freelander in combining open air motoring with a crossover body. The new Range Rover variant will, however, be the first of its breed to wear a luxury badge.
Range Rover's new open-top car will begin rolling into showrooms around the world from around the second quarter of 2016.
The company first displayed a concept version of the Evoque cabrio at the 2012 Geneva motor show.
Production was confirmed in March of this year, and the company has begun rolling out wireframe versions of the car in anticipation of its launch at the Los Angeles auto show in November.
