Updated Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo to debut at 2015 Tokyo show

A lightly revised version of the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo will be featured on the company's stage at the 2015 Tokyo motor show.

An earlier version of the car had a grey paint job and made its debut at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The updated vehicle is painted an eye-catching shade of red, dubbed "fire knight".

The only other change that Nissan has announced so far is a revised front air intake, which now features the company's "V-motion" grille. The brand's latest grille design is prominent part of the adventurously styled new-generation Murano SUV and Maxima sedan.

More recently, it has popped up on the heavily facelifted American version of the Altima family sedan.

It's widely believed that the Concept 2020 provides a few clues to the design of the next-generation GT-R.

The next-gen supercar won't debut until 2018 at the earliest. It will again feature 2+2 seating, but its drivetrain will include hybrid components to both improve performance and fuel economy.

Under the bonnet it will also feature a development of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 that powers the intriguingly-styled GT-R LM Nismo race car.

As with other vehicles in the Vision Gran Turismo series, the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo is available as a playable free download for anyone who owns a copy of Gran Turismo 6 on PlayStation.
