Honda CR-V DTi-L Limited Edition gets 1.6-litre turbo diesel ‘Earth Dreams’ engine

The 2015 Honda CR-V Series II sees a return to diesel power, in the form of the $44,290 (plus on-road costs) DTi-L Limited Edition variant.

This is the first time the Series II CR-V has been offered with a diesel engine.

With 118kW and 350Nm, the 1.6-litre Earth Dreams turbo diesel offers more power than the 110kW/350Nm 2.2-litre turbo diesel found in the 2014 Honda CR-V, while claiming just 5.9L/100km combined consumption - down from 6.9L/100km in the previous generation.

Honda's Earth Dreams technology signifies further enhancement to the VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system to further improve engine efficiency.

In addition to the diesel engine, the DTi-L Limited Edition CR-V features all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The model is identified by a revised front grille, new head and tail lamps and LED running lamps, updated front and rear bumpers and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin offers leather-appointed heated front seats, a leather steering wheel, and a seven-inch colour touch screen with satellite navigation and a reverse-view camera.

In a first for the Series II CR-V, the DTi-L also includes a powered tailgate.

The 2015 Honda CR-V Series II DTi-L Limited Edition will, as its name suggests, only be available in limited numbers.
