Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder confirmed for Frankfurt

The Italian supercar maker has confirmed that it will be debuting the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder at this year's Frankfurt motor show.

For the past week, Lamborghini has been telling enthusiasts and members of the press "that the sky will never be same" after its press conference at next week's motor show. Now we're no longer in the dark by what the company means by that catchphrase.

Given that the suffix (LP610-4) applied to the upcoming Huracan convertible is unchanged, we know that the open-top version will feature the same drivetrain as its coupe sibling.

The Huracan coupe is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 pumping out 449kW (or 610PS) of power and 560Nm of torque. With the aid of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system, the 1422 kilogram coupe can launch from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds, hit 200km/h in 9.9 seconds and soar onwards to a top speed of 325km/h.

Lamborghini has yet to provide any images or details about the new convertible, but it's not hard to image what a top-less Huracan will look like.

For the Spyder, the Huracan's 0-100km/h time is likely to remain unchanged, although other performance standards may take a few tenths of a second longer to complete.
