Hyundai Sonata recalled over braking, stability control concerns

Hyundai Australia has issued a recall on models in its all-new Sonata range, over a potential fault with its stability control system.

The concern centres on an incorrect fitment of brake tubing or a seal ring on the brake booster system, which the carmaker says could increase the risk of braking problems when electronic stability control is activated.

The potential fault affects 2044 vehicles built between July 10 2014 and May 30 2015. The VIN range for affected vehicles is KMHE341BMFA045604 to KMHE241FMFA142833.

Hyundai says that the fault was detected internally and no incidents have been recorded.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail to arrange inspection and parts replacement if required.
