Mitsubishi Triton gets the Dynamic Shield styling treatment

The Mitsubishi Triton debuted earlier this year without the new Dynamic Shield design language that has taken centre stage on the Outlander SUV first and foremost. If you look at the two vehicles side by side, the difference in design is stark.

But the result of what would happen should the Japanese brand – which has stated it intends to focus purely on commercial vehicles and SUVs – decide to change the front-end of its workhorse truck makes for some thought-provoking discussion.

Indeed, the Triton’s SUV spinoff model, the new-generation Challenger, was the basis for this thought process. You can tell us what you think in the comments section below, but to us it seems clear the Triton with the brand’s Dynamic Shield styling is a more, er, stylish thing.

There's a sleek new headlight design, chrome-laden grille and reshaped lower bumper, all of which combine to add cohesion to the dual-cab Exceed Triton model we've used as the digital basis for this rendering.

According to Mitsubishi Australia head of corporate communications, Shayna Welsh, there’s nothing on the radar for such a change.

“At this stage, there are no plans to adopt the dynamic shield styling on Triton - dynamic shield has been prioritised for our SUV range,” Welsh said.

However, CarAdvice has previously reported that the intent is clear from Mitsubishi to bring its model range in to line in its entirety.
