Infiniti has shown the first official interior images of the forthcoming Q30 crossover.

To be revealed in full at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show in September, the Q30 will be Infiniti's first small car and is expected to be followed closely by the more SUV-like QX30.

The single image details the driving position, and if it looks a little familiar, you would be right.

The Q30 has been primarily developed by Mercedes-Benz and uses the same MFA platform as the A-Class hatchback. Much of the switchgear and interior components shown in the Q30 image are sourced from the Mercedes-Benz catalogue, including the power-window switches, steering wheel buttons, climate control system and even the instrument binnacle.

Infiniti claims the use of high-quality materials has been key to the development of the Q30, and the use of Dinamica (man-made suede) helps create a premium environment.

We will bring you more details following the Q30's unveiling at Frankfurt on September 15th.
