The limited edition Transit SportVan has been created for customers who want a little more personality from their van and features Le Mans style bonnet stripes, twin exhausts, 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, side skirts and flared wheel arches.
Transit SportVan is based on the popular 260, short wheelbase Transit with front wheel drive and a 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine mated to a six-speed transmission.
"The first Performance Blue limited edition Transit SportVan has been an enormous success, with more than 1,000 sold in 18 months," said Ford of Britain's commercial vehicles director, Steve Kimber. "Transit SportVan is all about style and individuality, and hits a sweet spot with many of our customers."
Inside the Transit SportVan includes velour trim, air conditioning, six CD tuner with steering wheel mounted remote controls, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, leather steering wheel, tinted windows, leather gershift knob and perimetre alarm.
Standard equipment also includes power door locks, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, front fog lights and load area protection kit. Leather seats and colour satellite navigation are optional.
Important safety features are standard including ABS, ESP and driver and passenger airbags.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, the Transit SportVan is also available in blue (with stripes), black (with silver stipes) and grey (with silver stripes).
There are no plans for such a model in Australia at this time.
