Lamborghini’s sold-out new Aventador Superveloce hero will welcome a sibling this week when it rolls into the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Following reports earlier this month of a special unveiling, Lamborghini has now confirmed it will reveal the hotly anticipated Aventador Superveloce Roadster at the popular Californian show.
Official details on the new model are still to come, although Lamborghini has confirmed it will produce 500 examples - one hundred fewer than the coupe.
We shouldn’t expect too many surprises, with power likely to come from the same enhanced 6.5 litre V12 that drives the existing hardtop model.
That means a mean 552kW of power, which marks a 37kW increase over the ‘regular’ Aventador.
Expect that oomph to pass to the road through an all-wheel-drive system and a seven-speed automated manual, which should give the SV Roadster a 0-100km/h close to the 2.8 second sprint listed for the coupe.
Watch for the Superveloce Roadster to appear on August 14 (15th locally) at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
